My Truck
My 1991.5 Dodge Ram D250 with a Cummins Turbo
Diesel engine is for sale! This truck has approximately 275,000 miles on it. During a
recent top end rebuild (head gasket loosing coolant), the honing
marks were still readily visible in all cylinders. That speaks
worlds for using high quality lubricants.
Here is a run down of the AMSOIL products I have
used in this truck:
15W-40 Heavy Duty Diesel and Marine Synthetic Oil (AME)
Series 2000 SAE 75W-90 Synthetic Gear Lube (TGO)
Synthetic Universal Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF)
Synthetic Multi-Purpose Grease (all steering components,
universal joints, Wheel Bearings) (GLC)
AMSOIL bypass filtration unit (BMK-11)
I also use the analytical services of Oil Analyzers,
Inc. to monitor the condition of my lubricants. Here is a PDF of my
most recent oil analysis.
Though the truck is 16 years old, it runs
great. Here is a list of "enhancements"
that have been made to the truck:
Bosch Power Wagon 185 Injectors
Fleetguard BHAF (Big Honkin Air Filter - it is about 3 times the
size of the stock filter) with custom high flow inlet
Timing has been slightly advanced
Fueling adjustments
Custom fuel pin
3200 RPM governor spring in the fuel injection pump
PDR Modified HX35 Turbo with a non-wastegated 14 sq. cm exhaust housing
3 1/2" mandrel bent exhaust system from the turbo back
Intake and Exhaust manifolds, compressor housing and exhaust
housing ported and polished by Miller Racing Engines.
60# HD valve springs
KDP has been jigged
Transmission modifications by Miller Racing Engines
Borgeson Steering shaft
MOOG Super Heavy Duty 1 ton front springs
ISSPRO EV gauges - Tach on the A Pillar, Pyro, Boost and Tranny
Temp gauges on the dash
A 2nd gen gear shift lever with the OD switch on the lever has
been installed
KC 55w Back Up lights with switch and wired into reverse circuit
Upgraded 40-20-40 power seat from 94 Dodge Ram
Additional sound/heat insulation installed under new carpet
New headliner
I ran my truck on a dyno at Piers Diesel
Research in Surrey, B.C.. She turned out 290 RWHP with over 700
ft-lb of torque.
